Calcined Bauxite

Calcined Bauxite is the principal ore of aluminium and is composed mainly of hydrous aluminium oxides and aluminium hydroxides. The principal minerals present in bauxite include Gibbsite, Boehmite, and Diaspore. Bauxite is formed through the lateritization of aluminous rocks and is processed by heating at high temperatures to produce Calcined Bauxite.

Through controlled calcination, moisture and volatile components are removed and the material develops enhanced hardness, density, and refractory characteristics. Calcined Bauxite is therefore used in a wide range of refractory, abrasive, metallurgical, and high-performance industrial applications.

Calcination Process

Calcination is a controlled thermal treatment in which bauxite is heated to a high temperature. This process removes physically and chemically combined moisture and other volatile components from the raw material and converts the bauxite into a more stable calcined product with improved physical characteristics.

Why Choose Calcined Bauxite?

Calcined Bauxite combines high alumina content with hardness, density, and thermal stability. Different alumina grades allow the material to be selected according to the technical requirements of refractory, abrasive, road surfacing, and other industrial applications.

Product Quality

Our Calcined Bauxite is manufactured from selected bauxite raw material and processed under controlled calcination conditions. Chemical composition and bulk density are monitored to provide consistent material suitable for demanding industrial applications.

What is Calcined Bauxite?

Calcined Bauxite is bauxite that has been subjected to controlled high-temperature calcination. The process removes moisture and volatile components and produces an alumina-rich material with improved hardness, density, and thermal properties.

What is the alumina content of Calcined Bauxite?

The available specifications include Al2O3 content of 78% to 80%, 80% to 82%, and 82% to 84%, depending on the grade.

What are the main uses of Calcined Bauxite?

Calcined Bauxite is commonly used in refractory products, abrasives, road surfacing, High Friction Surface Treatment, foundry applications, and other industrial applications requiring an alumina-rich and durable mineral.

What is the difference between raw and calcined bauxite?

Raw bauxite contains moisture and hydrous aluminium minerals. Calcination involves heating the bauxite at high temperature to remove moisture and volatile components and produce a more stable material with improved physical and thermal characteristics.

Is Calcined Bauxite suitable for refractory applications?

Yes. Its alumina content, hardness, density, and thermal characteristics make Calcined Bauxite a commonly used raw material in various refractory products and high-temperature applications.

What bulk density is available?

The specified bulk density (BD) ranges from 2.7 to 2.8 for the listed grades, with the higher grades specified at approximately 2.80.

How can I request Calcined Bauxite specifications?
